Scouts

Scouts are aged from 10 ½ to 14 years old.

We have two Scout Troops at 5th/10th, with on average 30 members in each.

• Beacon Troop on Tuesdays, 19:00 – 21:00
• Denne Troop on Fridays, 19:15 – 21:15

Each Scout Troop consists of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, led by a Patrol Leader and assistant.

Following a fun, balanced programme we teach #SkillsForLife and encourage members to achieve high Scouting awards and promote Scouting values. Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, cooking, and first aid. Outdoor activities feature prominently in the Scout programme, with the highlight being termly camps.

Rock climbing, archery, caving, kayaking, shooting, photography and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.
