Cub Scouts (8-10.5)

Cub Scouts

Cubs are aged from 8 to 10 ½ years old.

We have two Cub Packs at 5th/10th, with on average 24 members in each.

  • Higgins Pack on Mondays, 19:00 – 20:30
  • Bennetts Pack on Thursdays, 19:00 – 20:30

Cub Packs are split into Sixes with the older cubs taking a lead role of the Six, as a Sixer or a Seconder.

Cubs take part in a wide range of fun and exciting activities which challenge and encourage working together and achieving the challenge awards available. A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors, learning new skills to help them in the older sections.

Fire lighting, basic emergency aid, bivvi building, navigating and pioneering are just some of the skills that are learnt as a cub. Cubs also get to experience more adventurous activities like kayaking, archery and caving. Camps and sleepovers are some of the most memorable events in the year for Cubs.

If your child would like to join us, or you’ve got an interest in helping us out then please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
